Congratulations to Cara and Jake,
Ladies Division 1 Buckle winner at the Snake River Rangers Roundup

Good Morning,

I was thinking this morning about the shoot this past weekend… about Jake’s performance, and where we are now in comparison to where we were last season.

The gal I bought Jake from came to the shoot Sunday afternoon to see Jake.  She reminded me that before I bought him there was a trainer who had Jake for 30 days and sent him home to them saying he was "stupid" and that a "bullet would be best for him".  That is when Jake was 3 1/2 or so.   I had Jake for a while and sent him to another trainer on the west side of the mountains; to someone I had watched ride and liked how her horses moved and felt like she could help Jake and I.  She called me up and said "sell him; he's never going to come around".

Because I loved him, and wasn’t ready to give up on him, I sent him to you where you took him for 45 days and found a way.  You took his fight and changed his mind...not once did you tell me he was a "bad horse", a "stupid horse", or "more horse than I should have".  You found a way, without forcing the issue, to make Jake think it was his idea to be a shooting horse - and if that was the case then he'd do it.....that to me is the sign of a GREAT TRAINER!

Have a great day.
Cara
